On August 10, 2009, I published my first post at Divorced Dad Chronicles. On October 10, 2011, I gave DDC an identity. And today, there are significant changes taking place once again.
These changes come after an impromptu hiatus with many sleepless nights and much deliberation. Much of my time in deliberation included whether I should go in a different direction or just shut down Divorced Dad Chronicles for good.
As you can tell, my decision was to move DDC in a different direction. My focus for this blog has changed and my hope for these modifications will be better content for other divorced dads like myself.
Divorced Dad Chronicles will be geared toward divorced dads and dads with teenagers. I plan to concentrate on three categories. A Dad’s Perspective, The Kiddo, and Co-Parenting.
A Dad’s Perspective will be a look at current events through the eyes of a dad. There are so many things that are happening in the world today and I’ve noticed that my views on these events are different now than they have ever been. I’m optimistic that these posts will raise questions and conjure discussion with my readers.
The Kiddo category will be posts entirely devoted to my kiddo and his adventures as a teenager. He’ll be starting high school in a few days and I’m sure there will be plenty of ideas for posts that involve him. Look for some upcoming posts about what I like to call Operation Driver’s Training.
The Co-Parenting category will be posts about parenting as a divorced dad. There are struggles, sacrifices, and successes that come along with co-parenting that I feel would help others in the same situation. My plans include having guest bloggers in the same situation to help with this category. But for now, be on the lookout for a series on co-parenting in the near future.
Now that I’ve explained the focus of Divorced Dad Chronicles, I want to announce another change. Well it’s not really much of a change as it is an addition. Starting today, you can find the other side of me at www.stanlaws.com. This is where I will write more sporadically and will include topics that I don’t feel are pertinent to DDC. Check it out if you want a more candid and transparent look into my life as well as my insight on sports and other matters where I want to add my two cents.
