In case you didn’t know, I’ve played golf off and on since I was 16 years old. I actually played my best golf during that time because I was playing every day. Since then, I’ve played once or twice a year and there was a stretch that I went years without swinging a club.
After I returned from Ukraine, I packed my clubs and carried them with me since I would be TDY for a month at Ft. Bliss, TX. I played a few times while I was there and I’ve rediscovered my love/hate relationship for the game. I’ve played 50+ rounds of golf since returning in March, the most I’ve played since I was in high school. If that doesn’t raise red flags for an obsession, I’m not sure what would.
The best way to describe my game right now would be inconsistent. I’ve shot as low as 90 this year and as high as 118. With this newly invigorated obsession, I want to be as good as I can be.
Since I’ve transitioned from The Divorced Dad Chronicles to this site, I’ve been everything like my golf game. The inconsistency of the content has been great and I plan to change that. The future of this website will be mostly about golf. There will be some content coming soon from my deployment to Ukraine and my trip around Europe while I was deployed, but most of the posts from this point forward is how my golf game is developing. I understand if that’s not your thing and you decide this site isn’t for you anymore. Golf isn’t for everyone.
I plan to post updates on how I’m improving my game. I intend to post my scorecards, images from the app that I use while playing, and even some video of me out on the course. When practicing, I’ll post the drills that I used during the practice session and how it will help to improve my game. I also plan to post about lessons when I begin those. This will be a journey of how an inconsistent, double-par golfer practiced, played, and became good enough to break par, consistently.
I know that breaking par is a lofty goal, but it’s one that I believe that I can achieve. It’s going to be extremely painful for me, but it should be enormously entertaining for y’all. If you want to keep up with my progress, make sure you subscribe to the site and you’ll receive email notifications when I post new content.
Until next time, thanks for reading and take care!
