Wordless Wednesday – Closing The Gate

Posted on 21 December 2011 by Stan

Another installment of Wordless Wednesday with words.

Many people say, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” I believe this picture is worth so much more than any amount of words the greatest author, journalist, essayist, or even critic could scribe to paper or publish to the internet . No words can ever take away the pain and suffering of the family members of the 4484 American lives given while accomplishing the Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation New Dawn (OND) missions. But this picture epitomizes “Mission Complete.” The American military were given orders to accomplish a mission and through hard work and untiring dedication, we have accomplished this mission! A huge job well done to all who have served in OIF and OND, especially to my brothers and sisters from the 230th Sustainment Brigade! Be safe and hurry home!

I’m still waiting for Mel Gibson to ride out in a skirt yelling “FREEDOM!”
